We enjoyed a full day tuk tuk tour of Sintra with Daniel on December 26 2024. It was one of the best days of our vacation!  From the time of booking months in advance all communication with Daniel and his team was prompt and efficient. I loved having reference videos from Daniel to help plan our day. We visited two monuments (Pena Palace and Quintana da Regalia), stopped in Sintra village for pastries (the best of our trip) and a family painted tile artisan shop, drove through the hillside, made a couple stops trying to find a place open for lunch but ended up at an amazing restaurant and Daniel shared a meal with us, giving us some history, tips as our food guide. Then a drive along the coastline, ending in Cascais at the beach to watch the sunset. It was a cool day, but he offered blankets while we drove. We love the photos he took of us through the day. Sintra..not to be missed if you’re in the Lisbon area. It’s not a secret, so that’s a great reason to have a knowledgeable tour guide to help maximize your time. Vitor Gaspar, with Yesyoudeserve tours, was a perfect fit for a recent visit my wife and I throughly enjoyed. His custom itinerary fit us perfectly. We were not able to traverse all the elevation changes due to health challenges and Vitor made a real effort to accommodate our needs. We were able to visit a lot of the sites and saw some really remarkable properties. This place is really magical! Don’t miss it.  Also, part of the trip included a visit to Cascais, a neat seaside village that begs you to stay and relax. That will be high on our list when we return some day. Thank you, Daniel Ponce, for leading our family through the Sintra region with incredible guided tours of Pena Palace, Monserrate, the Sanctuary of Peninha and the road to Cascais. We engaged YYD for a full-day tour on 6th Apr 2025. My group had a really good time with Leandro as our guide. YYD shows their professionalism from the time I ask about their service until the tour ends for the day. Despite bad weather (rain & fog), Leandro made extra effort to turn things around to be well. We had an absolutely amazing full day tour with Vera and ‘Yes You Deserve Tours’. Vera was the perfect tour guide for us, with a wealth of knowledge of the history and stories of her country, told with a wonderful mix of detail and humor. She was effortlessly gracious, polite, and responsive to questions. It was also clear to see that her peers respected her wherever we went, with very positive interactions with all. Vera made sure to make the absolute most of our time, providing extra stops and views wherever possible, while at the same time not making it feel rushed. Our lunch at a small family run local restaurant was wonderful, and then a private tour and tasting at a local winery was very interesting, learning about how they grow in the local terroir, and how it affects the wine making process. Had a wonderful tour with Pedro. Our choice included Monserrat and a scenic overlook. He was very informative through the tour of Monserrat sharing information about the different plants and trees as well as the carvings in the palace. It was a lovely day with Pedro.

Daniel is the most awesome tour guide. He takes such pride in making sure your tour is what you want and such care to not miss anything. He knows just the right stops and amazing views! I recently had the pleasure of connecting with Yes You Deserve during my trip to Portugal from my hometown in Boston, Massachusetts and I simply cannot recommend them highly enough! From start to finish, the entire experience was flawless, professional, and genuinely wonderful. This company excels because they provide more than just transportation. They provide expert-level guiding. Every guide we had was exceptionally knowledgeable, not only on the main historical facts but also on the culture, local life, and hidden stories that bring Portugal to life. They answered every question with depth and enthusiasm, transforming simple sightseeing into an enriching educational experience. We booked 2 separate full private immersion all day tours with them. The first tour was of Lisbon with Diego on a TukTuk who was a lot of fun to hang out with. Our second tour was that of Quinta da Regaleira and Monserrate Palace with Pedro who was equally fun. If I had to do it all over again, I would skip Monserrate. Not because the building wasn't beautiful and architecturally grand, but because the vast interiors feel are pretty much empty. This is due to its tumultuous history of private ownership and neglect, which led to the Portuguese government auctioning off or dispersing the remaining furniture and belongings to fund the palace's intensive conservation and restoration efforts, leaving it largely unfurnished today. However the grounds and garden are beautiful. The true must-see marvel of Monserrate is its expansive, diverse garden. It showcases a breathtaking collection of global biodiversity featuring an incredible array of trees and flora successfully cultivated from drastically different climate zones. A perfect example of the tour company’s dedication was our guide, Pedro, who took us to an exceptional wine tasting in Colares where his detailed knowledge of the white and red varieties allowed me to select and order several bottles of wine to be shipped home for my friends and family's Christmas gifts. If you are planning a trip, let my advice save you disappointment. Please make sure you are booking with a legitimate tour company like this one, and not just a driver who claims to be a guide. My firsthand advice on this comes from a painful comparison. On our second day of our trip we booked what we thought was a full tour of Fátima, Nazaré, and Óbidos, only to discover our “guide” was just a driver. While he was a pleasant man, we paid $315 for mere transportation, received absolutely no historical or cultural information about the sites, and had to arrange our own lunch. I booked this other “tour” because I didn’t see anything on Yes You Deserve’s website that offered a tour to those places. That costly disappointment is exactly why the expertise of Yes You Deserve guides felt so extensive and comprehensive. There is a world of difference between being driven to a location and having a true, certified guide provide context, history, and insight. The guides provided by Yes You Deserve elevated our trip dramatically. They are the real deal, offering the deep knowledge you deserve. Our high regard for the team was further confirmed when we had the pleasure of meeting Daniel Ponce the owner of the tour company while he was expertly leading his own group at a shared lunch spot. Their use of WhatsApp for constant, real-time communication made the entire scheduling and logistics process remarkably seamless and stress-free. For complete peace of mind, I also easily arranged my airport transfers through them, a seamless service provided via their reliable transportation partners. Our full-day private Sintra tour with YES, You Deserve Tours ended up being one of the highlights of our Portugal trip. The morning started off chaotic with Bolt cancellations, traffic from an accident and us running late to our meeting point, but Daniel handled everything with such calm, grace and flexibility that the entire energy of the day shifted the moment we met him. Sintra is beautiful but those hills are no joke, especially for a full-day tour. Daniel customized the day around our comfort level, adjusted routes to avoid unnecessary climbing and navigated crowds/timing seamlessly. He even helped me during part of the Moorish Castle climb when Sintra humbled me quickly LOL. Windy, steep and definitely humbled me quickly. Quinta da Regaleira and the Initiation Well were magical and Daniel’s storytelling made the history come alive without ever feeling rehearsed. We also visited Pena Palace (exterior), Cabo da Roca and Azenhas do Mar, all absolutely stunning. Lunch at Somos um Regalo was hands down the best meal we’ve had since arriving in Portugal. The grilled chicken was delicious, portions were huge and everything from the tomatoes and onions to the rice, fries, homemade apple pie and wine was simple, fresh and flavorful. Exactly the kind of authentic local spot we never would have found on our own. By the end of the day my husband looked at me and said, “Okay…THIS made the trip worth it.” Highly recommend YES, You Deserve Tours and especially Daniel for anyone visiting Sintra.

As I was planning our family of four trip to Portugal I knew we wanted to visit the Sintra mountains with it’s beautiful gardens and palaces.   Do we do a self-tour with the buses and no guide or do we spend the day with someone who knows the area better than anyone else?   Do not spend the time thinking about this…reach out to Daniel Ponce @ Yes, You Deserve! Tuk Tuk Tour in Sintra by Daniel Ponce!!  It will be an experience that you will never forget. We worked with Daniel on the sites we wanted to see…Quinta de Regaleira, Monserrate Palace and Gardens, Cabo da Roca, fabulous views of Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle…just to name a few.  He had special spots and stops along the way via his Tuk Tuk, including an amazing lunch.  The day ended in Cascais, which was absolutely beautiful.   We never ever could have done this by ourselves.  He captured us in photo’s all along the tour as well.    I made the right decision by asking Daniel to be our guide. If you going to Sintra take a tuk-tuk with Catarina who know all the history and stories of Quinta da Regaleira and Pena Palace. We spend the day with her and still talking about how great our trip was because of Catarina! I am 83 and didn’t know if I could go down the initiative well at Regaleira but she assured me I could and was with me the whole way! I highly recommend seeing Sintra this way! It was all so easy and seamless. We were just along for the ride! Our guide, Claudia, was the absolute best! She was from Sintra, born and raised, and knew so much history! She was amazing with my teen boys. Our group of six had a wonderful Sintra tour with Claudia, despite cold and windy weather. Claudia kindly provided blankets for the TukTuk ride. We saw the terraces of Pena Palace and toured Quinta de Regaleira with its amazing initiation well. Claudia treated us to travesseiro pastries to give us energy for the uphill climb - absolutely delicious! She was a knowledgeable and informative guide and knew the best spots for photo ops. On the drive to Cascais we stopped for lunch and ate one of our best meals in Portugal. The pork and cod were especially tasty, and the desserts were incredible! Amazing tour! I spent a lot of time researching Sintra tour companies and had actually booked a different tour before discovering Yes, You Deserve Tours. After reading so many great reviews, I decided to cancel my original booking and splurge on their all-inclusive full-day tour. It was more expensive, but it was absolutely worth every penny and the best decision I made for this family vacation. We were lucky to have Daniel as our guide, and he was phenomenal. Daniel planned the day perfectly to have minimal crowds, took us for delicious pastries and an incredible local lunch (the chicken was amazing!), where we were the only English speaking customers (my favorite kind of restaurant when traveling!) and handled every ticket and reservation so we never had to think about logistics. Since everything was included, I didn’t have to worry about paying for anything or thinking of logistics, which was such a relief and relaxing-making it feel like vacation. One of the highlights was that Daniel took over 100 beautiful photos of our family throughout the day and shared all of them with us afterward. It allowed us to be fully present while still coming home with incredible memories. He was also SO knowledgeable and kept my kids engaged throughout the whole day. He shared so many details about history we would’ve never known without him as our guide. When we decided we wanted to shorten our time in Sintra, Daniel happily adjusted the itinerary at the last minute. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. If you’re debating whether the all-inclusive tour is worth the extra cost, it absolutely is. Thank you, Daniel and Yes, You Deserve, for an unforgettable experience! We thoroughly enjoyed our tuk tuk tour with Daniel Ponce in Sintra and Cascais.   He is knowledgeable, friendly, funny and flexible.  Our reservation for a castle happened to fall on a day they were closed but he quickly pivoted with options for us.  He took us to many view spots, castles, coast side, beaches and towns. We had the BEST day with Daniel Ponce. Cannot recommend him enough. Good company, great historical knowledge. We had a great tour of Pena as well as visits to other palaces, a special lunch in a small town and wine tasting in Colares.
